So we're announcing the INFILTRATE keynote tomorrow, and as I was on
vacation last week, sitting on a different beach from the beach I normally
sit on, I spent some time reflecting on what INFILTRATE really looks like,
you know, as part of my effort to "find myself" or whatever I was doing.

Honestly, what I was doing was reading this book on Quantum Mechanics
<https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41832814-beyond-weird>. Quantum
Mechanics people all seem to have really strong opinions on how to
interpret all the results of everything they discover, most of which you
can demonstrate with things laying around your house, like your polarized
sunglasses, and also, most of which the inhabitants of Breezes in the
Bahamas don't want to talk about.

When we do interviews at Immunity I always slip in a question at the end,
assuming it's going well, which is "What is your favorite exploit". The
right person will have deep seated emotions about particular exploits, even
if their reasons are different from the ones I have. Sometimes I would ask
this question of strangers at Defcon as well. It's the most revealing one I
have, like Schrodinger's question about the stupid cat.

To the right kind of eyes, INFILTRATE is a cloud chamber where you can see
different types of particles - the dwarves crafting larger scale fuzzers
than last year and cranking out 0day by the thousands, the elves putting
together fifteen logic bugs with a far off ethereal magic, various wizards
digging 1990's era bug classes from their graves and making them dance for
the audience.

I've always felt the technology will guide us through the politics and
marketing nonsense around offensive work. We never wanted our community to
be controlled by, of all things, a magazine company.

So in any case, hopefully those of you who've come before will come again,
and if you haven't, then you can still submit to the cfp
<http://infiltratecon.org/cfp/>. And if you're registering, we do still
have the non-alcoholic ticket available. Also: The hotel block always runs
out, so I recommend getting a room before that happens, especially if
you're coming to the training!
