InfoSec Family,
Regardless if Hollywood got their BJJ hooks in and choked the hacking out
of the show; IMHO it's still a fun tv show and worth the space on your DVR.
I'd like to give a shout out; expressing my appreciation for the
significant effort Kristian spent trying to advise and educate television
writers/directors on the non-trivial realities of what we as an industry do
for a living.
He put a lot of work into creating realistic hacking sequences that
showcased the awesome exploits, apps, frameworks and distros coded and
collaborated by the very folks receiving this email; our InfoSec family.
Lets be honest, the average American plopped down on an oversized couch
gazing at their 60" Costco LCD with the cable remote in hand isn't gonna
choose to watch a show|movie that accurately portrays the complex,
non-glamorous and time intensive job we do for a living.
The small subset who would choose to tune-in are exceptions and certainly
not inline with my stereotype of the average American.
Just because what we do for a living isn't "Hollywood Sexy" doesn't mean
its not badass...
