SAINTCON 2016 DETAILS

SAINT CON (SAINT is an Acronym for "Security Advisory and Incident Network Team") is a moderate sized hacking conference based in Utah. SAINTCON is a non-profit event where we provide a security conference focused on training, discussion, and information sharing.

When you attend SAINTCON, you will experience one of the best information security conferences that combines professional, casual, and social aspects of information security.

SAINTCON 2016 is our 15th annual conference event, and will be held on October 11-14, 2016 at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo, Utah.

We are still deep in the planning stages of SAINTCON, but it's looking like once again it will be even more incredible than years past. We have a lot of great content being submitted, and some great keynote addresses.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS:

SAINTCON WORKSHOPS/TRAININGS
We're bringing workshops back to SAINTCON 2016, and expanding them in a big way. Workshops are a great opportunity to get hands-on instruction and lab time with industry professionals for a variety of topics and skills. Topics for this year already include:

Wireshark, Linux Security, Windows Logging, Blue Teaming, NMap, and more...

Current Schedule: https://www.saintcon.org/schedule

We're continuing to accept workshop proposals, so we're confident that more will be offered.
-----

PRESENTATIONS
Most people come to participate in the presentations. This year we have had a large number of submissions for presentations. We have accepted many of them, and even rejected some. Our goal is to fill the conference with the content that is meaningful and interesting to you. We have some incredible presenters, and continue to recruit exceptional talent. Approved presentations have recently been posted to the SAINTCON website.

HACKERS CHALLENGE GAME
The Hackers Challenge game is an event at SAINTCON which has exploded in popularity. It's an opportunity for you to pit your skills in everything from Trivia, to Systems Administration, Pen-testing; against your peers at the conference. It's exciting and provides a great opportunity for you to learn new skills in the process.

Details for the Hackers Challenge game are closely guarded, but if you are looking to a sneak peek into the game, we have pre-conference challenges beginning on Sep 1. We will continue to release more challenges as we get closer to the conference. Find these challenges at: https://www.saintcon.org/hc

THE VAULT VILLAGE
Some information about this activity will be released before the conference, except you should come ready to test your physical security penetration testing skills!
-----

THE BADGE
We are once again bringing back the electronic badge this year. Some assembly in our Hardware Hacking Village may be required. Details about the badge and their capabilities are not being released until the start of the con.
-----

HARDWARE HACKING VILLAGE
It's back, with even more projects and instruction. If you have an interest in hardware, or just a need to build your badge, this village will be a hot-spot of activity during the conference.
-----

LOCK PICKING VILLAGE
We have recruited experts in lock picking to provide instruction and demonstrations in lock picking. Come and learn this skill, and participate in our first ever LOCK PICKING COMPETITION. Win fabulous prizes, fame and fortune.
-----

REDvBLUE COMPETITION
Details are still being worked out, but we are working on hosting a Red vs Blue competition provided by one of our conference sponsors. More details about this event will be provided as soon as we finalize them.
-----

REGISTER SOON
Seating is limited, and seems to be on-track to be sold out (800 seats max). Also, we are going to be ordering badges very soon, and there will be limited extras available. Badges will be guaranteed to anyone who registers before September 1st, after that, you take the chance that you will not get a fully functional badge (if we run out of the extras we're ordering). We promise: You will want a fully functional badge! Keep in mind: REGISTRATION COSTS INCREASE after Sep 1.
-----

CPE CREDITS
SAINTCON is now recognized by many of the major certification entities as CPE eligible training. Upon request, SAINTCON will be able to provide you documentation that will help you submit for CPE credits. GIAC and ISC2 already have SAINTCON as an option in their CPE submission forms.

BRING YOUR KIDS???
While SAINTCON is considered a professional conference, over the past couple of years, we have seen more and more High-School aged students join us at the conference. Much of the training they get at a conference helps them more fully understand the importance of information security (and we'll probably teach them how to pick locks).

We can also help you work with Utah and Idaho based schools to help your kids obtain school credit for time missed in coming to SAINTCON.

Individuals under 18 years of age must have a responsible adult accompany them to the conference. We recommend that they be at least 15 years old to attend, but there is no age limits.
-----

LAST WORDS
If we haven't yet convinced you to join us, keep watching for updates on the SAINTCON website, but just remember that we spend a lot more time on our planning than we do in updating our website. We may have exactly what you are looking for, you just don't know it yet!

Hope to see you there
