So there's a concept in BJJ/Judo called "base", and it's all about
knowing the center of gravity of your opponent and also knowing
where they're support structures are, and which direction they can
flex and push. I know almost nothing about such things (as evidenced
by my performance at INFILTRATE's BJJ Open Mat last year), but one
thing that does resonate is the weirdness of the "<a
href="http://thejiujitsulab.wordpress.com/2011/07/24/deep-half-guard-part-i/">deep
half</a>" position. An outside observer would say "why are you
crawling under that guy so he can sit on your face?"<br>
<br>
Generally what happens is that you have your legs wrapped around his
legs and your head under his "frame" (euphemistically) and you have
the option of trying to roll out behind him or find a few ways to
throw him and end up on top. <br>
<br>
To put it into terms even I can understand: Being directly under
someone means you control their base because their center of gravity
is directly on top of you, and you are controlling their support
structures, which sucks for them.<br>

This is where cyberwar is now. As much as it seems all the focus on
cyberwar in the legislative branch is going to get exploits
regulated, crypto stomped on, reverse engineering penalized,
copyright infringement penalties increased, etc. it's clear that
governments have realized that with tiny movements of cyber, massive
changes in society's balance can occur, and there's not a lot they
can do about it. This is a good thing for people on this list.<br>
<br>
One thing government people CAN do is attend <a
href="http://www.infiltratecon.com/">INFILTRATE </a>this May.
It's budget season and we've already got one really exciting talk
lined up on advanced post-exploitation and covert channels. You
should call now to reserve your spot before all of DC shuts down due
to a lack of trash collection. :><br>
