<p>As covered in our Daily Diary #332, Hive is a Ransomware threat that operates using the double-extortion model most ransomware families adopted nowadays, stealing data before encrypting it and threatening to publish if the ransom is not paid. Recently, on
November 14, Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc, a US-based company, was the recent target of a ransomware attack claimed by Hive ransomware on their wall-of-shame website.</p>

<p>The Hive ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that it breached Supernus Pharmaceuticals’ network on November 14, and that a total of 1.5 terabytes of data were exfiltrated. Supernus Pharmaceuticals stated that it was able to restore
the impacted data, no ransom was paid, and that the company’s business has not been significantly impacted by the incident.</p>

<p>Although Supernus Pharmaceuticals alleged no impact on their operations, the Hive ransomware group published on their wall-of-shame site that Supernus Inc. was in constant negotiations to prevent a disclosure of this incident because of the pending acquisition
of ADAMAS PHARMACEUTICALS, INC, revealing the extent to which the company has been affected.</p>
